Ice Dendrite Abstract Series

These five images were taken from the perimeter of a small ice covered pond. The series title, Ice Dendrites represents my interpretation of their form. Maybe its my medical background, but to me each looks like a nerve cell body with extensions (dendrites) reaching out from the center. The reality is, the formations were probably created by humans throwing heavy stones into the semi-frozen pond.
I purposefully processed each image with nearly pure black and white tones and high contrast edits to exaggerate their shape and form.
The images are offered as 12” x 8” photos on 20” x 16” Hahnemuhle fine art baryta glossy paper. The paper is archival quality with bright whites and deep blacks. Photographs are mounted on 4-ply archival matboard and doubled matted with white beveled 4-ply archival material. Prints are presented in a simple black wood frame with non-glare UV glass and wall hanger.
Each print is titled and signed.
