We offer a variety of photography learning options for all knowledge and skill levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Choose your preferred learning format: in-person, via Zoom, in a traditional community college classroom, personalized one-to-one instruction, or a small group environment.

    Night Sky Course $275

    Learn how to conceptualize, plan, and execute a night sky photo outing. The course consists of 6 hours of Zoom content plus two night field experiences.

    Advanced Concept Photography $599

    Expressive Photography Course

    If you are ready to move beyond traditional objective image making, consider this course. This course is all about exploring and experimenting.

    Course topics will include: creative photography philosophy and concepts; intermediate and advanced field skills (in-camera movement, multiple exposures, burst mode); editing techniques (image layering & blending, aesthetic techniques); active weekly assignments; and student sharing.

    This course will combine Zoom and in-person field sessions.

    The 8-week course includes weekly Zoom sessions and four in-field technique practice sessions. The course will be limited to 8 students.

    September-October, 2026

    Zoom Sessions: Wednesdays, September 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, October 7, 14, & 21. 5 pm to 6:30 pm PST.

    Field Sessions: Saturdays, September 5, 12, 19, & 26. A combination of mornings and evening sessions.

    Students must have strong knowledge and skills in the following areas: camera operations, field photo exposure, and a basic-to-intermediate working knowledge of Lightroom and Photoshop.

    Small Group Field Workshops

    Have a group of three to five photo enthusiasts looking to create a half-day or full-day photo workshop? We would love to help you make it happen. We can help design a workshop to meet goals. All levels are welcome. Contact Us. We’ll discuss the who, what, and where.

    Minimum: 3 photographers

    Maximum: 5 photographers

    5-hour local workshops: $500 per person

    8-hour local workshops: $700 per person.

    All workshops are custom-designed to meet your interests, knowledge, and skill level. Contact Us. No charge or obligation for the call! Here are a few ideas.

    * A full or half-day waterfall tour.

    * A sunrise or sunset workshop at Smith Rock State Park, Sparks Lake, or McKenzie Pass.

    Two or three-day workshops are not out of the question. For example, two days in the Columbia River Gorge or three days on the Oregon Coast. If you can dream it, we can make it happen. Call for a quote.

    Traditional College Courses

    If you prefer a more traditional learning experience, consider taking a non-credit photography course at a community college. I teach group photography courses at Central Oregon Community College (COCC) in Bend, Oregon.
